Overview

Travelling to Romania from the UK.

Romania sits in Southeast Europe, and we prepare its visa files from our London office — for family visits, business and tourism. Whatever the reason for the trip, the work is the same: the right route, a complete file, and nothing left to explain at the counter.

A visa for Romania is filed as a Schengen short-stay, which lets you travel across the whole Schengen area for up to 90 days in any 180. We confirm that Romania is the correct country to apply to before anything is submitted — applying to the wrong mission is one of the most common reasons a file is refused.

The reasons people travel to Romania.

All filed as a Schengen short-stay (Type C) application.

What to prepare

A typical Romania file.

  • 01A passport valid for the period the mission requires beyond your travel dates
  • 02Recent passport-standard photographs to the mission's specification
  • 03Confirmed travel bookings and a day-by-day itinerary
  • 04Proof of accommodation for the whole stay
  • 05Evidence of funds to cover the trip
  • 06Travel medical insurance valid across the Schengen area
  • 07A completed application form for the correct country of application

Exact requirements vary by nationality and route. We confirm the current list for your case before you gather anything.

Questions

Romania, answered plainly.

Do I need a visa to visit Romania?

It depends on your nationality, how long you are staying and why you are travelling. Before anything is filed we confirm whether you need a visa for Romania and, if so, exactly which route applies to you.

How long does a decision take?

Schengen short-stay decisions are usually issued within 15 calendar days of your appointment, and can take longer in peak season or if the consulate asks for more documents. We tell you the current expectation before you book.

Can you guarantee my visa will be approved?

No — and be wary of anyone who says they can. The decision belongs entirely to the mission. What we do is make sure the file in front of them is complete, consistent and presented the way they expect.

Do I have to come to your office?

Not for the preparation. Documents can be sent securely and the whole review handled by phone, email or WhatsApp. You will still attend your own biometrics appointment in person.
